Dr. Liu grew up in the South but slowly moved back to the Northeast to be closer to his family. He received his undergraduate degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, graduating summa cum laude with Bachelor of Science/Arts in Biology and Chemistry.
He obtained his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago before moving to Boston for his Internal Medicine training at Tufts Medical center. He then completed his gastroenterology fellowship training at University of Connecticut.
Dr. Liu practices general gastroenterology with extensive training in diagnosis and management of a wide array of liver and gastrointestinal disorders. He has specific interest in esophageal disorders (gastroesophageal reflux disease, Barrett’s esophagus, swallowing problems, and eosinophilic esophagitis), disease of the stomach and pancreas, and colorectal cancer screening. He is well-trained in using common tools such as endoscopy and colonoscopy as well as other specialized tools in assessing and treating conditions of the GI tracts.
