GoLYTELY® /TriLYTE® Prep Instructions

Generic Prep (GaviLyte-G (PEG-3350)

*** Follow the Prep Instructions Below and Not The Instructions On The Box ***

 

What you need to pick up/purchase:

• Pick up your prescription at your pharmacy within 5 days. If it is longer than 5 days, they will place back on the shelf.
• Simethicone Soft-gel Tablets 180mg (ex: Gas-X, Phazyme, Mylicon)
• Clear Liquid Suggestions:
  • Popsicles (not red or purple)
  • Clear broth or bouillon
  • Black coffee and/or tea (no cream, milk, or non-dairy creamer)
  • Clear juice with no pulp (apple, white grape, and lemonade). Do not have orange juice
  • Jell-O (lemon, lime, or orange flavor)
  • Gatorade and/or Powerade (clear, green, or yellow)
  • Soda (Sprite, Ginger Ale, 7-Up, cola)

The Day Before Your Procedure:

• Clear liquid diet all day. DO NOT have any alcohol, dairy products, solids, and anything with purple or red dyes. Drinking plenty of clear liquids throughout the day is very important.

1. 4:00 pm take 2 Simethicone Soft-Gel Tablets
2. Drink GoLYTELY®/TriLYTE®, 1-2 glasses every 10-20 minutes until half of the prep is gone.
3. Continue a clear liquid diet the remainder of the day/night.

Day of Your Procedure:

1. 6 hours before your arrival time, take 2 Simethicone Soft-Gel tablets and begin the second portion of your prep.
2. Drink 1-2 glasses every 10-20 minutes until the prep is completed.
3. Continue Clear Liquids until 4 hours before your arrival time.
