Fibroscan
Fibroscan is a type of liver elastography. It is a special ultrasound technology that measures liver stiffness (hardness) and fatty changes in your liver. It is non-invasive and takes less than 30 minutes to complete. The measurements from your Fibroscan help your healthcare provider learn more about your liver disease. To get accurate results, you are required to fast for 3 hours prior to your scheduled test. Nothing to eat or drink except a minimal amount of water. If you do not meet the fasting requirement at your time of arrival, your test will need to be rescheduled.
**Please note: If you have questions regarding insurance coverage, you should contact your insurance carrier directly. Call the member services number on the back of your insurance card. The insurance representative will ask you for the procedure code. The Fibroscan procedure code is 91200.
